Students can often have a difficult time finding their first summer job.  It can be very intimidating preparing a resume, approaching prospective employers, and being interviewed.  Some are not even sure where to begin.

To help students in our community find summer employers, Councillor Pam McConnell hosts an annual job fair in co-operation with Parks, Forestry and Recreation.  Past participants include the TTC, Toronto Police Service, Toronto Fire Service, Toronto Emergency Medical Service, Toronto Community Housing Corporation, Woodgreen Employment Services as well as many trade unions and local retail outlets.  This provided an opportunity for youth to meet with major employers and employment agencies.

This annual job fair will offer workshops on resume writing and job interviews, to increase the chances of finding a job and gain experience and confidence for future employment.
