Toronto Civics 101

In 2009, the City of Toronto hosted a unique civic engagement and education program called Toronto Civics 101. With six sessions and accompanying website, Toronto Civics 101offered unique insight into how the municipal government functioned. Councillor Pam McConnell was one of the guest speakers, to describe the role and responsibilities of City Councillors as well as her work to involve more women in municipal government.

Regent Park Revitalization

Councillor Pam McConnell participates in a panel discussion, hosted by RICS Canada, on the revitalization of Regent Park. She speaks about the history of Regent Park and that the revitalization is not just about new buildings but strengthening an already vibrant community.

Councillor Pam McConnell is joined by representatives from the federal and provincial governments and Toronto Community Housing to officially open the buildings at 246 and 252 Sackville Street, along with the off-site units at 501 Adelaide Street East and 92 Carlton Street. These are the first new buildings to be occupied in the revitalization of Regent Park.
