In January, five design teams were selected to compete in the Jack Layton Ferry Terminal and Harbour Square Park Innovative Design Competition. Since then, the teams have gone through an intensive eight-week design exercise to develop their proposals for the ferry terminal, park and surrounding areas.
The goal of the competition is to create an inspiring vision for the long-term transformation of the Ferry Terminal and Harbour Square Park. That vision will be articulated in a master plan for the area that can be phased in over time, as funding and budget becomes available.
Below you will find the five proposals that have been put forward. Each team has created a “proposal booklet” which describes their concept in detail, as well as a series of five panels that summarize what they are proposing.
This is your opportunity to review the designs and provide your thoughts and feedback. All the public comments will be summarized in a report that will be delivered to the competition jury for their consideration, alongside reports from the competition’s Stakeholder Advisory Committee and Technical Advisory Committee.
