From August 16-19, 2012, the City of Toronto will host the 2012 Ontario Summer Games — the largest multi-sport competition in the Province, and pre-opening events on August 14 and 15. The Games will bring together 3,300 participants, including almost 2,500 athletes competing in 28 sports in sport venues across Toronto and surrounding regions, as well as coaches, managers and officials.
About 1,000 volunteers are needed to assist at the athlete villages, sport venues and Games events including the 100 Day Out Event (May 9) and the Opening Ceremony (August 16).
The 2012 Ontario Summer Games are a program of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport delivered by the Sport Alliance Ontario in collaboration with the City of Toronto, Toronto Sports Council and Tourism Toronto.
